The quiz has been postponed until Tuesday so that Mr. Minihan can review the homework with all students on Monday.
Review the notes posted from previous weeks on Japan, South and North Korea and China. Review your responses to last week's questions which were discussed in class, and to this week's questions. Pay particular attention to questions 1 and 6 from last week's questions that were due Tuesday 5/26
A link to the article on Rural India that we read in class is posted below:
http://www.nytimes.com/2015/03/16/opinion/in-rural-india-hoping-for-jobs-and-education-in-a-growing-economy.html
Some things to consider while reading the article:
A Caste system a way to organize society based on heredity and social class.
There is no social mobility, so there is no incentive to become better educated or to work harder
Untouchables are outcasts
It is illegal in India to discriminate based on caste, but change from this tradition is very slow and people are still discriminated against.
